On Sept. 8, Stewart, who will star as Hirst in No Man's Land and Vladimir in Waiting for Godot in the upcoming Broadway productions — which run in repertory beginning Oct. 26 at the Cort Theatre — married Brooklyn songwriter Sunny Ozell, whom he met in 2008 while performing Macbeth at the Brooklyn Academy of Music.

Following the ceremony, Stewart tweeted, "Yes, married," alongside a picture of him and his wife in a ball pit. McKellen shared an image on his Facebook page holding his doctor of divinity certificate and a t-shirt that reads, "Minister." His caption reads, "I did my part!" and includes a link to Stewart's aforementioned tweet.
