D. Benjamen Brown Productions presents the musical revue Into the Weeds (subtitled The Bill Weeden Songbook), which has played The Laurie Beechman Theatre since Aug. 5. The show, billed as "a sweet and witty celebration of over forty years of music," features the work of composer-performer Bill Weeden and collaborators David Finkle, Sally Fay and Ethan Fein.

The team of Weeden, Finkle and Fay won the 1980 NACCA Award (which later became the MAC) as Best Cabaret Comedy Group. Their musical Move It and It's Yours was named New Jersey's "Best New Musical" in 1998.

The show has generated press through a string of guest appearances including Annie Golden, Stephanie D'Abruzzo and Felicia Finley, among others.

Brescia had originally served as the standby for The Times They Are A-Changin' on Broadway. The actress — seen previously on Broadway filling in for Maria Friedman in The Woman in White — later replaced Caren Lyn Manuel in the starring role of Cleo. Other credits include Aida and the Broadway revival of Jesus Christ Superstar.

The cast of Into the Weeds features Ted Anderson, Melissa Center, Grey Garrett, Hilary Mann, Kristen Rozanski, John Paul Skocik, Michael Vaccaro, Eddie Varley, Amanda Weeden, John Weisenburger and Weeden himself.

Tickets to Into The Weeds at The Laurie Beechman Theatre, 407 West 42nd Street (at Ninth Avenue) can be reserved by calling (212) 695-6909. There is a $15 cover and a two-drink minimum. For more information visit westbankcafe.com.
