News Is The Happy Hooker Heading to Broadway? A musical version of "The Happy Hooker," the 1971 memoir by Xaviera Hollander that inspired the 1975 Lynn Redgrave film, is in the works, according to the Daily News.

Penned by composer Warren Wills and writer Richard Hansom, a preview of the musical was recently presented in Manhattan following an earlier program of excerpts at London's Drury Lane Theatre.

The musical, like the book upon which it is based, explores the story of Amsterdam-born Hollander, who came to Manhattan and eventually became a leading madam. Song titles include "Don't Mention the Name" and "There's Nothing Like an Older Man."

There has been no announcement about a production of The Happy Hooker.
