The Late Late Show with James Corden recreated the audition scene from La La Land using footage from the movie musical. Host Corden put his own twist on the song “Audition (The Fools Who Dream)” from the film, recounting the mix up over the presentation of the Best Picture Academy Award at the February 26 ceremony.

A number of theatre artists—actors and creatives alike—were among this year’s Oscar nominees, including Hamilton creator Lin-Manuel Miranda and Dear Evan Hansen songwriters Benj Pasek and Justin Paul, who were represented for their work on the musical films Moana and La La Land, respectively. Pasek and Paul took home the Oscar for Best Original Song for “City of Stars” from La La Land.
