Current Phantom of the Opera star Jay Armstrong Johnson, known for his roles in On the Town and Hair, will join the students of the Long Island Musical Theatre Festival for Teen Angst: A Musical Revue July 22 in Garden City, New York. Show time is 4:30 PM.
Johnson will lead a master class with students in preparation for the performance which will take place at Adelphi University. Johnson is also set to perform two solos during the concert, and join the students for the finale, “Let the Sun Shine In” from Hair.
The concert will also feature Hamilton – A Choral Medley performed by students in grades 6–8.
The Long Island Musical Theatre Festival provides young performers with pre-professional training in musical theatre. Intensives culminate in a full production of a Broadway musical. This season, LMTF will present the Tony-winning musical Spring Awakening July 27–28.
