Jayne Atkinson, Jonathan Hadary, and Samantha Hill Will Go From The Earth to the Moon | Playbill

News Jayne Atkinson, Jonathan Hadary, and Samantha Hill Will Go From The Earth to the Moon Broadway stars will topline Jules Verne: From the Earth to the Moon, a multimedia concert spectacle adapted from the Verne novel by the Ensemble for the Romantic Century at The Brooklyn Academy of Music in April.

Tony nominee Jonathan Hadary will play Jules Verne; Jayne Atkinson, currently on TV's "House of Cards," plays Honorine Verne; and Samatha Hill, currently Cosette in Les Miserables will play Nellie Bly.

Performances will run April 8-12 at BAM Fishman Space. ERC's show combines drama, video, and the music of Chausson, Stephen Foster, Gottschalk, and Chaminade.

Jules Verne: From the Earth to the Moon recounts the true story of Nellie Bly, the 25-year old American journalist who, in 1889, embarked on a journey around the world with the mission to beat Jules Verne's fictional character from "Around the World in Eighty Days."

In press notes, BAM states that "They said a woman couldn’t do it, but Bly proved them wrong—even taking precious time out for a surprise detour in France to meet the aging Verne. The meeting of these two unlikely kindred spirits, both unafraid to explore the unknown, inspires Ensemble for the Romantic Century’s sumptuous multimedia theatrical concert."

Post-show artist talks and a post-performance gala are also slated. For more information and to purchase tickets please visit bam.org.
