Hairspray Live!, the NBC musical event that will air live December 7, stars newcomer Maddie Baillio, original Tony Award-winning star Harvey Fierstein, and Oscar winner Jennifer Hudson as Motormouth Maybelle.

NBC has just released a new teaser of Hudson performing “I Know Where I’ve Been,” the rousing second act show-stopper from the musical.

The cast also features Kristin Chenoweth as Velma Von Tussle, Andrea Martin as Prudy Pingleton, Ariana Grande as Penny Pingleton, Ephraim Sykes as Seaweed J. Stubbs, Shahadi Wright Joseph as Little Inez, Sean Hayes as Mr. Pinky, Rosie O’Donnell as the gym teacher, Paul Vogt as Mr. Spritzer, Derek Hough as Corny Collins, Garrett Clayton as Link Larkin, and Martin Short as Wilbur Turnblad.

Fierstein has written the teleplay for the new adaptation, and original choreographer Jerry Mitchell serves as choreographer for the live production with music and lyrics by Marc Shaiman and Scott Wittman. Kenny Leon directs alongside Alex Rudzinski as live television director.

As previously reported, cast members Grande and Hudson will duet on the show’s finale, “Come So Far (Got So Far To Go).”

A half-hour before the December 7 live broadcast, cast members (and Promises, Promises co-stars) Kristin Chenoweth and Sean Hayes will host a half-hour pre-show.
