Broadway stars Stephanie J. Block, Christopher Sieber, Boyd Gaines, Jonathan Groff, Julia Murney and more will throw out the proverbial first pitch to kick off the 53rd season of softball for the Broadway Show League.

Jersey Boys stars Christian Hoff, Daniel Reichard, J. Robert Spencer and John Lloyd Young will sing the national anthem at the opening day celebration May 10 at 11:30 AM in Central Park's Heckscher Softball Fields.

Stephanie J. Block (The Pirate Queen), Boyd Gaines (Journey’s End), Jonathan Groff (Spring Awakening), Norm Lewis (The Little Mermaid), Darlene Love (Hairspray), Julia Murney (Wicked), Kate Shindle (Legally Blonde), Christopher Sieber (Spamalot) and Alexa Vega (Hairspray) will also be on hand for the event. Mr. Met, the New York Mets' official mascot, will make a special appearance.

Among the teams scheduled to play this season include A Chorus Line, Altar Boyz, Avenue Q, Beauty and the Beast, Blue Man Group, Coram Boy, The Coast of Utopia, Company The Drowsy Chaperone, The Fantasticks, Frost/Nixon, Grey Gardens, Hairspray, Inherit The Wind, Jersey Boys, Legally Blonde, Les Miserables, The Lion King, Mamma Mia!, Mary Poppins, Perfect Crime, The Phantom of the Opera, Rent, Spring Awakening, Tarzan and Wicked.

Last season, The Producers team reclaimed their championship status (fourth win in six seasons), defeating the Atlantic Theater Company by a score of 4-1. Construction on the Heckscher Ballfields — home field of the Broadway Show League in previous seasons — led to games being played at Central Park's other fields at the Great Lawn and North Meadow.
