News Joan Jett Among 2012 Nominees for the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Singer-songwriter and stage and screen actress Joan Jett is among this year's nominees for induction into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.

The ceremony, held April 14, 2012, will induct acts that released their first single or album 25 years ago.

In addition to Joan Jett and the Blackhearts, the 2012 nominees include Beastie Boys, The Cure, Donovan, Eric B. & Rakim, Guns 'N Roses, Heart, Freddie King, Laura Nyro, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Rufus with Chaka Khan, The Small Faces/The Faces, The Spinners, Donna Summer and War.

Jett has been seen on Broadway in The Rocky Horror Picture Show. In 1989 Joan Jett and the Blackhearts became the first rock band to perform a series of shows at Broadway's Lunt-Fontanne Theatre.
