News Joan Rivers to Play Laurie Beechman Engagement in August Legendary comic Joan Rivers will play six performances at the Laurie Beechman Theatre in midtown Manhattan beginning Aug. 4.

Rivers promises to lampoon "Hollywood, pop culture, celebrities, and award show fashions" in her latest show that will run Tuesdays and Wednesdays through Aug. 20.

Joan Rivers earned a Best Actress Tony nomination for her 1994 play Sally Marr...and Her Escorts, which she co-wrote with Erin Sanders and director Lonny Price. She made her Broadway debut in Fun City and later joined the cast of Neil Simon's Broadway Bound. She was a regular guest-host for Johnny Carson on "The Tonight Show" and also hosted "The Joan Rivers Show."

The Comedy Central Roast of Joan Rivers is scheduled to air on Aug. 9, and Rivers will host "How'd You Get So Rich?" for TV Land on Aug. 5.

Her Beechman performances will be Tuesdays at 9 PM and Wednesdays at 8 PM. A portion of the $30 cover will benefit God's Love We Deliver and Guide Dogs for the Blind. There is a $15 food and drink minimum at the Laurie Beechman Theatre. For tickets, phone (212) 352-3101 or visit SpingCycleNYC.
