LOS ANGELES --Broadway veteran Jodi Benson stars in the Theater League's production of The Sound of Music which opens Jan. 23 at the Thousand Oaks Civic Arts Plaza for a 9-day run.
Benson was nominated for a Tony Award as Best Actress for her work in the Broadway hit Crazy For You . She was also responsible for the voice of Ariel, Disney's Little Mermaid in the recently re-released Academy Award-winning animated musical film.
Directed by Glen Casale with choreography by Lee Martino, The Sound of Music has music by Richard Rodgers, lyrics by Oscar Hammerstein II, book by Howard Lindsay and Russell Crouse.
