The 8 PM concert will find Arias using his smoky, Billie Holiday-esque vocals to offer an evening of jazz standards, as well as songs by Bob Dylan, Diana Ross and Cream, with a dash of scandal throw in. A four-piece band will back Arias.

Joey Arias: Live at Town Hall! is conceived and created by Arias and musical director Ben Allison, with artistic direction by Manfred Thierry Mugler. Josh Wood Productions presents the one-night-only engagement.

Most recently, Arias tested the waters for his evening of song at the Abrons Arts Center last fall. Arias originated the role of the emcee in the Las Vegas production of Cirque du Soleil's Zumanity, and co-authored three songs for the production. He returned to New York to collaborate with puppet designer Basil Twist for Arias with a Twist, which opened to critical praise and extended for a year-long run at HERE Arts Center in 2008. The work continues to tour internationally and is documented in the film "Arias with a Twist: The Docufantasy." A soundtrack of the production is also available. Arias is also at work on a new project with Mugler to debut in early 2012.

A portion of the proceeds will benefit the non-profit HIV prevention organization Lifebeat. For tickets, priced $29-$109, visit Ticketmaster. Town Hall is located at 123 West 43rd Street in Manhattan.
