News Joey Calveri Will Be Stacee Jaxx in Broadway's Rock of Ages; Andrew Call to Join Cast Joey Calveri, who currently plays the ensemble role of Joey Primo in the Tony-nominated musical Rock of Ages, will step into the spotlight as wild rock idol Stacee Jaxx beginning Dec. 17 at Broadway’s Helen Hayes Theatre (240 W. 44th Street).

That same day, Andrew Call (American Idiot) will join the company as Joey Primo. Original Broadway cast member Jeremy Woodard, who originated the role of Joey Primo Off- and on Broadway and has performed the role of Stacee Jaxx since September 2011, will play his final performance Dec. 16.

Calveri has performed in the ensemble as Joey Primo and understudied Stacee Jaxx since joining the Broadway cast on Sept. 26, 2011, after performing in the show’s national tour. Other recent credits include Broadway’s Wonderland (Knight), the national tour of Saturday Night Fever, and the Las Vegas production of We Will Rock You.

The Broadway company currently includes Ashley Spencer as Sherrie, Justin Matthew Sargent as Drew, Jeremy Woodard as Stacee Jaxx, Genson Blimline as Lonny, Adam Dannheisser as Dennis, Cody Scott Lancaster as Franz, Michele Mais as Justice, Josephine Rose Roberts as Regina and Paul Schoeffler as Hertz. Rounding out the cast are Tessa Alves, Tony LePage, Michael Minarik, Jennifer Rias, Cassie Silva, Andre Ward and Neka Zang.

The musical comedy Rock of Ages borrows rock hits of the 1980s to tell the story of showbiz lovers in L.A. The score includes "Every Rose Has Its Thorn," "I Wanna Know What Love Is," "Here I Go Again," "Don't Stop Believin'" and more.

Rock of Ages is written by Chris D'Arienzo, directed by Kristin Hanggi and choreographed by Kelly Devine.
