Kaye starred in Souvenir in its Broadway run (from October 2005 to January 2006), at the Berkshire Theatre Festival, in the original production Off-Broadway at the York Theatre Company (receiving Lortel and Drama Desk nominations) and, most recently, in Los Angeles, Tucson and Phoenix.

According to press notes, Souvenir is the "story of the musical career of the 1930's Manhattan society eccentric Florence Foster Jenkins, told through the eyes of Ms. Jenkins' compassionate accompanist Cosme McMoon…Florence Foster Jenkins believed herself an opera diva of the highest caliber, but she couldn't hit a single note on key. Her true story written by Stephen Temperley reveals a remarkable woman with a heart of gold and an ear of tin. Her love and passion for music — when paired with her conviction and drive — catapult her to fame and the realization of her dreams."

Kaye won a Tony Award for her performance as Carlotta in the Broadway production of The Phantom of the Opera. Her other Broadway credits include Mamma Mia! (Tony and Drama Desk nomination), On the 20th Century (Theatre World Award and Drama Desk nomination), Ragtime and Grease, among others. Last year she appeared as the Old Lady in Candide with the New York City Opera, Hortense in the Reprise! production of Zorba in Los Angeles (Ovation nomination) and as Mrs. Lovett in the Broadway revival of Sweeney Todd, a role she has played three other times.
