News Justin Bowen, Elizabeth Burton and More Set for Free NYC Reading of David L. Kimple's Mare in the Men's Room A free reading of David L. Kimple's new play Mare in the Men's Room, about a woman rediscovering life as a drag king, will be presented April 21 at the East 13th Street Theatre.

Directed by Christopher Murrah, the 6:30 PM reading will feature Justin Bowen (Chaplin, On Your Toes at Encores!), Elizabeth Burton (Elf national tour), Sarah Claire Smith and Nick Scalzo.

According to press notes, "When her marriage starts to crumble, Brig returns to NYC to help her best friends open a glitzy new queer club in the East Village. As the trio prepares for the opening night, Brig becomes inspired by the world of drag around her and decides to try it herself. When her first performance as a drag king is a whirlwind success, suddenly the life she knew no longer exists."
