Entitled Tales of Tinseltown: A Movieland Musical, the reading will feature the talents of Kate Baldwin, Leslie Kritzer, Montego Glover, Eddie Korbich, Jonathan Rayson, Ryan Silverman, Jennifer Smith and Tony Yazbeck. Barry Ivan will direct the evening, which features musical direction by Brian Cimmet. Show time is 7 PM. Tales of Tinseltown, according to production notes, is "a sardonic parody of the Hollywood movie-making in the 1930's." In a statement Michael Parva, the artistic/producing director of The Directors Company, said, "This project is ready for its commercial NYC premiere. It’s fun, smart and really takes on the old Hollywood system and the gossip pipeline."

Kate Baldwin, who recently co-starred in the Stephen Sondheim revue Opening Doors, received a Helen Hayes Award nomination for her performance as Nellie Forbush in Arena Stage’s South Pacific. She appeared in the original ensemble of Broadway’s Thoroughly Modern Millie and was a late-run ensemble player in The Full Monty.

Leslie Kritzer is currently part of the ensemble of Broadway's Hairspray. The young actress stoodby for Alice Ripley in the Kennedy Center’s mounting of Andrew Lloyd Webber’s Tell Me On a Sunday and has also appeared in Godspell and Bat Boy as well as a concert staging of Rags. Kritzer starred as Fanny Brice in the Paper Mill Playhouse production of Funny Girl.

The Acorn Theatre is located on Theatre Row at 410 West 42nd Street.
