News Kate Shindle Stirs Up a Storm in Midsummer Night's Dream, May 20 Kate Shindle, the former Miss America and one-time Sally Bowles, is heading Off-Off-Broadway to become the Helena, one of the lost lovers in a staging of A Midsummer Night's Dream by the small Storm Theatre. Dates are May 20-June 6.

Kate Shindle earned the title of Miss America in 1998. She later portrayed Sally Bowles in the Roundabout revival of Cabaret and also appeared on Broadway as Lucy in Jekyll & Hyde. Also in the Storm's interesting mix of a cast is John Riggins, former NFL running back and Super Bowl MVP. Riggins, who played with the Washington Redskins, is currently acting on the soap "Guiding Light."

Completing the cast are Geoffrey Warren Barnes II, Jo Benincasa, Brian Coffey, Ashton Crosby, Bernardo De Paula, Brooke Evans, Adriane Erdos, Ethan Flower, Hugh Brandon Kelly, Daryl Lathon, Noreen Lewis, Kelleigh Miller, Julia Motyka, Damon Noland, Jose Sanchez, Rolando J. Vargas and Joshua Vasquez.

The Storm Theatre has developed a reputation Off-Off-Broadway for staging seldom-seen minor classics such as Boucicault's The Shaughraun and Bulwer-Lytton's Money. Tickets are $19.
