Griffin, who will be seen in an episode scheduled to air in early 2012, will play Lindsay, a co-worker of Whitney's pal, Roxanne.
The actress and comedian was seen on Broadway last season in her solo show Kathy Griffin Wants a Tony. She is well known for her reality television series "Kathy Griffin: My Life on the D-List," which received an Emmy Award for Outstanding Reality Program. Her other television appearances include "Suddenly Susan," "Glee," "Ugly Betty" and "Drop Dead Diva."
"Whitney" airs Thursday nights at 9:30 PM ET on NBC.
