Joining Najimy are the co-stars of Dirty Blonde author-originator Shear, Kevin Chamberlin and Bob Stillman. The two actors will recreate their Tony-nominated turns opposite Najimy and Sally Mayes (She Loves Me) — who will play the final week of the run in the lead role. James Lapine and Gareth Hendee direct.
The design team includes Douglas Stein (scenic), Susan Hilferty (costume), David Lander (lighting) and Dan Moses Schreier (sound).
The work, which celebrates the legendary Mae West and her most devoted fans, is the second Old Globe summer production, following the currently-running Julius Caesar, at the outdoor Lowell Davies Festival Theatre through Aug. 10. Tony Award-winner Daniel Sullivan (Proof) directs the Shakespeare.
Dana Delany ("China Beach") and Billy Campbell ("Once and Again") will be featured in the second Bard offering, Much Ado About Nothing. Campbell will play as Benedick opposite Delany's Beatrice in the comedy, which plays the outdoor space, Aug. 31-Oct. 12 under the direction of Globe associate director Brendan Fox.
David Ives' Time Flies will also play at the Cassius Carter Centre Stage, July 27-Sept. 7. Matt August directs. For subscription and regular ticket information to the Globe, call (619) 239-2255. For info about The Old Globe, visit their website at www.theoldglobe.com.
