News Kelly Clarkson Says She's Ready For Broadway, But Must Stop "Procreating" First Kelly Clarkson won the first season of Fox's "American Idol," but remains one of the famed contestants who has yet to take on a Broadway show. However, at her recent July 17 concert at Radio City Music Hall, she talked of her theatre dreams.

Pop singer Clarkson told the crowd at Radio City that she's ready for Broadway, but must "stop procreating first." The former "Idol" gave birth to daughter River Rose Blackstock (with husband Brandon Blackstock) in June 2014.

She's previously talked about taking on Funny Girl if she were to step into a Broadway revival.

Numerous "American Idol" contestants went onto have Broadway careers, including Jennifer Hudson, who will make her Main Stem debut this season in the Broadway revival of The Color Purple.
