News Kristine Nielsen and Marylouise Burke Are Murderers in Philadelphia, Oct. 6-Nov. 5 Michael Bush's production of Jeffrey Hatcher's Murderers for Philadelphia Theatre Company will feature Marylouise Burke, Brent Langdon and Kristine Nielsen.

The staging marks the East Coast premiere of the Florida-set dark comedy about a sleepy community. Performances play Oct. 6-Nov. 5. Opening is Oct. 11.

According to PTC, "In Murderers, Gerald, Lucy, and Minka are cold-blooded murderers, happily living and working at the Riddle Key Retirement Community in Florida. That they committed murder is not in question, but the 'why' inspires an evening of greed, revenge and hilarity."

Like Hatcher's Three Viewings, the play is comprised of monologues.

"As we enter our final season at Plays & Players Theater before the move to our new home in the Suzanne Roberts Theatre, we are thrilled to be continuing our relationship with Jeffrey Hatcher, one of our favorite playwrights and master storytellers," stated Sara Garonzik, Philadelphia Theatre Company’s producing artistic director.

Jeffrey Hatcher's works include A Picasso (awarded the 2003 Barrymore Award for Outstanding New Play for its PTC world premiere), Compleat Female Stage Beauty, Three Viewings and the libretto to Never Gonna Dance. He wrote the screenplays for "Stage Beauty" and "Casanova." Both Burke (Fuddy Meers, Kimberly Akimbo) and Nielsen (Based on a Totally True Story) have enjoyed success in Off-Broadway comedies, including works at Manhattan Theatre Club where Michael Bush was director of artistic production. Nielsen is also known for Christopher Durang's Miss Witherspoon and Betty's Summer Vacation. Burke was Jack's mother in the Broadway revival of Into the Woods.

Brent Langdon has been a frequent guest at Actors Theatre of Louisville, where he was featured in Crimes of the Heart, The Complete Works of William Shakespeare (Abridged), Dracula and A Christmas Carol. He has also appeared in several productions at Playmakers Repertory, Grindstone Theatre Company, New Harmony Project, Ensemble Theatre of Cincinnati and Orlando Shakespeare Festival.

The creative team includes set designer James Noone; lighting designer Traci Klainer; costume designer Karen Ledger; sound designer Ryan Rummery.
