The Los Angeles production of Disney'sBeauty and the Beast will close Sept. 29 after 25 previews and 615 performances at the Shubert Theatre in Century City.
The LA production of the Alan Menken/ Howard Ashman musical won four 1995 Los Angeles Drama Critics Circle Awards, three 1994-95 LA Ovation Awards and eleven 1995 Drama-Logue Awards, including outstanding production. The production reportedly will have earned $56 million.

The Broadway production of Beauty and the Beast played its 1000th performance Sept. 8, and is continuing at the Palace Theatre.
