News Lansbury and Cook to Be Part of Jerry Herman's Broadway — in London A one-night-only benefit concert, entitled Jerry Herman's Broadway, will be presented May 4 at the London Palladium to benefit the HIV/AIDS charity called Crusaid.

Presented by Barry J. Mishon, the concert will feature Herman as well as veteran actresses Angela Lansbury and Barbara Cook and stage and screen star Ron Raines, according to the Dress Circle website. The performers — more will be announced at a later date — will be backed by the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra under the direction of Donald Pippin. The evening will include such Herman classics as "Bosom Buddies," "The Best of Times" and "Hello, Dolly!," among others.

One of the theatre's most celebrated composers, Jerry Herman has written the scores for such Broadway musicals as Milk and Honey; Hello, Dolly!; Mame; Dear World; Mack & Mabel; The Grand Tour and La Cage aux Folles. He also contributed songs to A Day in Hollywood/A Night in the Ukraine, and revues of his work include Jerry's Girls and An Evening with Jerry Herman. The songwriter won Tony Awards for his scores for Hello, Dolly! and La Cage aux Folles.
