LOS ANGELES -- Showbiz professionals are being courted with special membership plans by the Geffen Playhouse.

Gold and Platinum Flex Plans will allow entertainment industry members freedom of choice when ordering tickets through January. With three plays scheduled from January to June totaling 120 performances, members can arrange to attend at any time (subject to seating availability), or they can order three tickets for a single production.

"There are many people in the industry like me who are passionate about live theatre, but find it impossible to lock in dates months in advance," said Geffen Playhouse producing director Gilbert Cates. "I want to make theatre-going as spontaneous and simple as going to the movies and I think we have the perfect solution."

A number of prime seats will be held at every performance for members of the Flex Plan, which includes: three admissions; free parking; invitations to a number of parties, including a personal invitation from Cates to join him and the cast for a behind-the-scenes discussion of a play and a backstage tour of the theatre; and a subscription to the Geffen Playhouse newsletter.

For those individuals who prefer weeknights and weekend matinees, the Gold Flex Plan is available for $100 for three admissions. The Platinum Flex Plan is $115 for three admissions and includes Fri. and Sat. night performances. For information call (310) 208-5454.
