Aziza Miller: CD Release
July 7
7:30 PM
Joe's Pub (425 Lafayette Street)

"Aziza Miller knows New York. The pulse and the energy of the city manifests in her fusion of jazz, soul, Latin, and spoken word. She spellbinds audiences with her original compositions, peerless musicianship, and soulful yet sophisticated melodies. A native New Yorker, Aziza is proud to debut her new album "What’s On Your Mind?" at Joe’s Pub. "What’s On Your Mind?" is the defining musical portrait of Aziza as both composer and musical artisan. "The Subway," the album's first single, vividly captures the sights, sounds, and colorful characters that distinguish New York's metro system. Produced by Abe Fogle, engineered by Bryan X. Andrade, mixed by Chris Parks, and mastered by Dave Darlington, “The Subway” has been hailed by Valerie Simpson as "an anthem for the Metropolitan Transportation Authority" and has become the show stopper of Aziza's concerts. Directed by Chinua Thomas, the accompanying video was filmed on-location in New York during summer 2013."

Kyle Riabko

Joe's Pub (425 Lafayette Street)

"Musician Kyle Riabko performs his original songs along with selections from the Bacharach catalogue which were featured in his acclaimed Off Broadway show What’s It All About? Bacharach Reimagined earlier this year. Named “One of the Year’s Best” by The New York Times, the show received nominations for Drama Desk Awards, Outer Critics Circle Awards and Lucille Lortel Awards for which Riabko was nominated as Best Actor in a Musical. The New York Times wrote, “Riabko searches out the emotional layers of the songs with impressive precision,” and New York Magazine said, “Riabko is the wonderfully appealing star”. Riabko previously appeared on Broadway in both Spring Awakening and Hair, and in his teen years, recorded an album of original material for Sony/Aware Records and performed as an opening act for such artists as BB King, James Brown, John Mayer, Buddy Guy, Keb Mo, Jason Mraz, and Maroon 5, among others."

Tori Scott
Sept. 16
7:30 PM
Joe's Pub (425 Lafayette Street)

"Belter and bad decision expert Tori Scott, a Garland for the Grindr era, returns to Joe's Pub for another evening of brassy songs and slurred autobiographical stories. As a singer, she's graced the stages of 54 Below, the Laurie Beechman, the Metropolitan Room, and every gay bar on the Eastern Seaboard; as an actress, she's counted to 20 as a singing garbage woman on "Sesame Street" and dubbed the vocals of a singing hooker on HBO's "Cathouse: The Musical"; as a woman, she strives every day in every way to be a consummate lady and sometimes wonders if she actually still has a liver or not. If you missed her previous packed shows at the Pub, all is forgiven; just get a ticket, get a drink, and let Tori belt your troubles away.."

Tickets are $20. Visit JoesPub.
