News   Les Miz Is Back in NYC Area, Playing Newark June 9-13
It may be a Broadway memory, but Les Misérables is still storming the barricades in cities across North America on its national tour.

Fans in the New York City area can catch the tour at the New Jersey Performing Arts Center June 9-13, in Newark, NJ.

This is the first New York metro-area visit of the musical since its Broadway run ended May 18, 2003. The engagement opens 7:30 PM June 9.

The Cameron Mackintosh-produced smash, based on the Victor Hugo novel, was written by Alain Boublil and Claude-Michel Schönberg.

The engagement features Broadway's final Jean Valjean, Randal Keith, with Stephen Tewksbury  as Inspector Javert and Tonya Dixon as Fantine.  Also featured are Michael Kostroff and Cindy Benson as the Thénardiers. Brookside, NJ native Nadine Jacobson and Erika Kiyomi Johnson alternate in the roles of Young Cosette and Young Eponine, and Holmdale, NJ native Branden Steinagle and Daniel Wright alternate in the role of Gavroche.

Good seats are still available for most performances at the NJPAC box office and www.njpac.org, or by calling (888) GO-NJPAC. Performance times are June 9 at 7:30 PM; June 10 at 1:30 PM and 7:30 PM; June 11 at 8 PM; June 12 at 2 PM and 8 PM; June 13 at 1:30 PM and 7 PM.
