The Spanish singer and actor Pedro Ruy Blas, known internationally for his portrayal of Jean Valjean in the Spanish version of Les Miserables, will offer a series of jazz concerts, his favorite style of music, April 13-26.
Ruy Blas also starred as Goya in La Maja de Goya, The Musical (96-97 season), as Menelao in the musical La Bella Helena (based on the opera by Offenbach), and as Judas in Jesus Christ Superstar.
In celebration of its fifteenth anniversary, the concerts will take place in the Cafe Central, a well-known Jazz stage in Madrid.
Pedro Ruy Blas will perform jazz, blues, and ballads in English, including "Sophisticated Lady", "Dat Dere", and "Take Five," among others.
Accompanying Ruy Blas will be Pedro Sarmiento playing piano, Andreas Pritwitz playing Saxophone, Miguel Chastang playing contrabass, and Paco Garcia playing drums. Pedro Ruy-Blas sings in the Cafe Central April 13-26, 10 PM. 10 , Plaza del Angel Street, Madrid. For tickets and info: +34 91 3694143.
