News Lift Cabaret Has Cast of Seven, Supporting a Good Cause, April 27 & 30
Lift, a new Manhattan cabaret show to benefit ASTEP (Artists Striving to End Poverty), promises song, comedy and dialogue to explore what it means to be optimistic in an age of warfare and recession.

Under the direction of DJ Salisbury, a director, writer and choreographer who has done volunteer work with ASTEP in India, and musical direction of Brent-Alan Huffman (the upcoming musical Leap of Faith), Lift will play the Laurie Beechman Theatre in the West Bank Café April 27 and April 30 at 7 PM.

In the show meanings of the word "lift" will be examined. The production will use original songs by Salisbury and Huffman.

Lift features Nick Cobey, Adam Enright, Marnie Klar, Michael Markham, MaryAnne Piccolo, Maureen Taylor and Elizabeth Ulmer.

The Laurie Beechman Theatre is located within the West Bank Café at 407 West 42nd Street between Ninth and Tenth Avenues.
