News "Listen": Soundtrack to New "Dreamgirls" Film Hits No. 3 on Billboard 200 The Music World/Columbia release of the soundtrack to "Dreamgirls," the current movie version of the musical of the same name, has jumped to No. 3 on The Billboard 200 album chart.

The soundtrack of the Henry Krieger-Tom Eyen score — featuring stars Beyoncé Knowles, Anika Noni Rose and Jennifer Hudson as the title trio — also charts on the Top Soundtracks at No. 3. The film's new song "Listen" also earned a "Hot Shot Debut" on The Billboard Hot 100 singles chart. Over on the Top Cast Album chart, the original cast recording of the Broadway musical — featuring Loretta Devine, Jennifer Holliday and Sheryl Lee Ralph — is enjoying a rebirth. Both the Decca Broadway original 1982 release as well as the recent Hip-O/Geffen special edition both hit their second week on the chart.

"Chicago" screenwriter Bill Condon directs and adapts "Dreamgirls" starring Jennifer Hudson as Effie, Beyoncé Knowles as Deena Jones, Anika Noni Rose as Lorrell Robinson, Jamie Foxx as Curtis Taylor Jr., Eddie Murphy as James "Thunder" Early and Danny Glover as Marty.
