News London's Fringe Landor Theatre To Offer U.K. Professional Premiere of Kander and Ebb's Curtains Kander and Ebb's 2006 Broadway musical Curtains is to receive its U.K. professional premiere in a run at London's fringe Landor Theatre, beginning performances July 25 prior to an official opening July 30, for a run through Sept. 1.

Though previously licensed for student and amateur performances at venues that have included the Arts Educational School and the Guildhall School of Music and Drama, it is now being staged by the Landor's artistic director Robert McWhir for its first professional outing, with musical supervision by Iain Vince Gatt and choreography by Robbie O'Reilly, the same team who previously collaborated on I Love You Because at the same address. It is produced by Theatrica Ltd. for the Landor Theatre. Casting is still to be announced. Curtains features a book by Rupert Holmes, lyrics by Fred Ebb and music by John Kander with additional lyrics by Kander and Holmes, based on the original book and concept by Peter Stone. According to press materials, "it's the brassy, bright, and promising year of 1959. Boston's Colonial Theatre is host to the opening night performance of a new musical, Robbin' Hood of the Old West. When the leading lady, faded film star diva Jessica Cranshaw, mysteriously dies on stage the cast and crew all become suspects; enter Lieutenant Frank Cioffi of the Boston Police Department stage left, who just happens to be a musical theatre fan.
