Long before the whole world was booting up and logging on, rugged men were suiting up and logging in the woods. Playwright Quincy Long examines three of those singing, drinking, shooting types making their way to Canada in his comedy, The Joy Of Going Somewhere Definite, which opened April 7 at NY's Atlantic Theatre Company and will finish its run May 18. Several positive reviews helped extend the show from its original closing date, May 4.

William H. Macy, now a movie star thanks to Fargo, directs. Macy and David Mamet co-founded the Atlantic in 1985, and the two have worked together often, most notably when Macy appeared as the beleaguered college professor in Oleanna. Macy also directed the Atlantic Theatre's production of Boys' Life at Lincoln Center.

Appearing in Somewhere Definite are Atlantic regulars Neil Pepe, Jordan Lage and Felicity Huffman, as well as J.R. Horne, Guy Boyd and Dale Soules. (Lage, Boyd and Horne play the loggers). Soules appeared on Broadway in The Magic Show and Hair; Huffman won an Obie for her performance in Mamet's The Cryptogram Off-Broadway.

Long's other plays include Shaker Heights (1994), The Virgin Molly, Yokohama Duty and The Adventures Of Por Quinly .
