Conceived by Michael Scheman and David Stern, Snapshots began previews June 18 and continues through July 13. Both Stern and Schwartz have been in attendance during Snapshots' rehearsal and preview period to fine-tune the musical that incorporates pre-existing songs from Schwartz's catalogue into a new dramatic framework. Featuring a book by David Stern, Snapshots tells of Sue and Dan, married for 30 years. When Sue decides to leave her husband, she discovers a box of photographs chronicling their life together. The musical follows the pair as their younger selves emerge to reenact moments captured in the photos.

The TheatreWorks production includes Beth DeVries, seen in the Seattle world premiere of Snapshots, as well as Molly Bell, Brian Crum, Michael Marcotte, Courtney Stokes and Ray Wills. Tony nominee Steve Orich serves as arranger and musical director.

TheatreWorks artistic director Robert Kelley stages the work that features "Popular" from Wicked, "Corner of the Sky" from Pippin, "Meadowlark" from The Baker's Wife and "All Good Gifts" from Godspell.

The production also features "Making Good," a song cut from Wicked as well as new lyrics to "If We Never Meet Again" (from Rags) and "Endless Delights" (cut since the original premiere of The Baker's Wife).

All of the songs have been rearranged for the production, and Schwartz penned the new title song "Snapshots."

Snapshots has seen previous incarnations at the Village Theatre in Seattle, and Dayton, Ohio's Human Race Theatre.

Mountain View Center for the Performing Arts is located at 500 Castro Street (at Mercy) in Mountain View, CA. For tickets phone (650) 903-6000 or visit theatreworks.org.
