News Lorna Luft to Reprise Songs My Mother Taught Me at London's Crazy Coqs; Barb Jungr and Janie Dee Also to Appear in January Lorna Luft will reprise her solo autobiographical show, Songs My Mother Taught Me, at London's Crazy Coqs cabaret room at the new Brasserie Zedel restaurant, off Piccadilly, beginning performances Jan. 29 for a run through Feb. 2.

Luft previously presented the show in a West End run at the Savoy Theatre in 2004. In it, she celebrates her mother Judy Garland's legendary songbook. Luft began her career at the age of 11 on her mother's TV show and has flourished ever since with starring roles in film, TV and on stage. She will be preceded by seasons featuring Barb Jungr and Janie Dee. Jungr will present Take Me to the River (running Jan. 15-19), accompanied by Simon Wallace, which was previously presented at the Cafe Carlyle in 2008 but she has never previously performed in the U.K. It brings together a collection of songs on the theme of rivers and their beauty, emotional and spiritual connotations, including Joni Mitchell's "River," Bruce Springsteen's "The River," Bob Dylan's "A Hard Rain's Gonna Fall," Hank Williams' "Lost On The River" and Mike Scott's "Fisherman's Blues."

Dee's new show will run Jan. 22-26, and embrace jazz, pop and ballads, Broadway and musical theatre. Her musical director is Ben Atkinson.
