Classic Arts News Lyric Opera Broadcasts 2007-08 Season on Radio and Online Lyric Opera of Chicago's 53rd season season is being carried live on local radio station 98.7WFMT and online at www.wfmt.com through the The Bucksbaum Family Lyric Opera Broadcasts.
The company's current eight-opera season kicked off on September 29 with La traviata. All but one (Il barbiere di Siviglia) of the remaining productions will be broadcast on their opening nights.

Hosted by Norman Pellegrini and Lisa Flynn, the broadcasts begin with live commentary and taped interviews on the following dates (all times U.S. Central):

Handel: Giulio Cesare, November 2 at 6:15 p.m.
R. Strauss: Die Frau ohne Schatten, November 16 at 6:15 p.m.
Adams: Doctor Atomic, December 14 at 7:00 p.m.
Verdi: Falstaff, January 28 at 7:15 p.m.
Rossini: Il barbiere di Siviglia, February 22 at 7:15 p.m.
Tchaikovsky: Eugene Onegin, March 1 at 7:15 p.m.

Lyric's full 2007-08 season will be rebroadcast on eight consecutive Saturdays in May and June of 2008 by the WFMT radio network. The broadcasts are funded by grants Lyric received from the Matthew and John Bucksbaum families and General Growth Properties last year, along with matching funds secured this summer from the Crown Family, Richard P. and Susan Kiphart, and the Andrew W. Mellon Foundation.
