DKNY, GQ and Stella Artois serve as sponsors for the Oct. 29 annual event — this year subtitled "The Battle of Good vs. Evil" — which will play New York City's St. Paul's Hall.
Artistic director John Ortiz, along with co-artistic directors Philip Seymour Hoffman and John Gould Rubin (also serves as executive director), invite friends and fans to "watch four celebrity teams battle for victory in a hilarious speed charades competition," according to an announcement.
Hoffman and Ortiz will be joined by a starry roster of names including Bob Balaban, Bobby Cannavale, Billy Crudup, Rachel Dratch, Noah Emmerich, Richard Kind, Julianna Margulies, Christopher Meloni, Martha Plimpton, Cynthia Rowley, Daphne Rubin-Vega, George Wendt and David Zayas. (All players subject to availibility.)
The evening will also honor Bennington College with The Dave Hogue Award. The prize — presented for "artistic courage and outstanding dedication to LAByrinth Theater Company" — has previously been bestowed upon Daryl Roth, Ira Pittelman, Madonna and George C. Wolfe.
All proceeds from this event will support LAB's current season. The troupe currently presents Bob Glaudini's A View from 151st Street and will continue with Brett C. Leonard's Unconditional (directed by Mark Wing-Davey) and Stephen Adly Guirgis' The Little Flower of East Orange (directed by Hoffman). The company will also present developmental runs of Rebecca Cohen's Penalties & Interest and Scott Hudson's Sweet Storm during its 16th season.
