Cullen, who currently appears in the Lincoln Center Theater revival of South Pacific, penned the work that tells "one family’s timeless war story [about] a young boy looking for a way to finally be a man." An official opening has been set for Jan. 14.
The cast of Safe Home includes Michael Cullen (Cobb, Bug), Ian Hyland ("Spanglish"), Cynthia Mace (Angels in America, The Goat or Who is Sylvia?), Eric Miller (Sweet Storm, Betrayed), Erik Saxvik (Approaching America, Nobody Suspects a Butterfly) and Katy Wright Mead (Your Mom's Feet).
The production will have designs by Alex Koch (video and set design), David Bengali (lighting design), Jeanne Wu (sound design) and Lena Sands (costume design).
Sean Cullen has appeared in the films "Revolutionary Road" and "Michael Clayton." His stage credits include The Capeman, James Joyce's The Dead and The Pillowman. Safe Home marks his playwrighting debut.
