PlayBlog Maggie Gyllenhaal Talks Three Sisters on "The View" (Video) Maggie Gyllenhaal stopped by "The View" Jan. 26 to discuss performing in Anton Chekhov's Three Sisters.


Gyllenhaal talked about performing opposite her husband, Peter Sarsgaard (with whom her character has an extramarital affair in the play), and her onstage sisters, Jessica Hecht and Juliet Rylance. She also discussed the challenges and rewards of performing Chekhov's work and touched on the recently announced Academy Award nominations, including the one her "Crazy Heart" costar, Jeff Bridges, received for "True Grit."

An Oscar nominee for "Crazy Heart," Gyllenhaal appeared opposite Sarsgaard in the Classic Stage Company production of Uncle Vanya. The couple return to Classic Stage Company for Three Sisters, which is currently in previews.
