The hit London revival of Edward Albee's A Delicate Balance, which winds up its run April 4, is having to make do without one of its stars.
Dame Maggie Smith is out of the company at least through Mar. 28 following the Mar. 20 death of her husband, playwright Beverley Cross.
Actress Eleanor Wilkinson is filling in for Smith.
An associate at the Haymarket Theatre box office told Playbill On-Line (Mar. 26) that it is not known whether or not Dame Maggie will return to the show for the final week of performances (Mar. 30-April 4).
Also in the cast of A Delicate Balance are Eileen Atkins, John Standing and Annette Crosbie.
