Thanks to good notices in the New York dailies, The Trial of One Short Sighted Black Woman Vs. Mammy Louise and Safreeta Mae will extend its run at the Henry Street Settlement (466 Grand St), through Dec. 6.

The play, written by Marcia Leslie, is set up as a mock trial where Blacks challenge Blacks regarding their identity and racial stereotypes. The play tells the story of a woman whose racial identity is not derived from the history of her people but cobbled from racial stereotypes anthologized by others.

Paul Carter Harrison directs a cast featuring Barbara Montgomery, Ebony Jo-Ann, Carla brothers, Brenda Denmark, Petronia Paley, JoAnna Rhineheart and Reg Flowers.
