A representative for the production told Playbill.com that a tour will commence in fall 2015 and it will be "much in the spirit" of the 2009 production, which was nominated for six 2010 Tony Awards, including Best Revival of a Musical.
Here's how the musical is billed: "At the dawn of a new century, everything is changing… and anything is possible. Ragtime returns to North America in a striking, all-new touring production from the producing team that most recently brought you The Color Purple and Spamalot. The stories of an upper-class wife, a determined Jewish immigrant and a daring young Harlem musician unfold — set in turn-of-the-century New York — all three united by their desire and belief in a brighter tomorrow."
Ragtime features a Tony Award-winning score by Stephen Flaherty and Lynn Ahrens and a Tony-winning book by Terrence McNally. The original production opened in January 1998 at the Ford Center for the Performing Arts.
