London News Marie Curie Musical to Receive English-Language Premiere in London

Originally premiering in 2020 in South Korea, the musical traces the life of the scientific pioneer.

The South Korean bio-musical Marie Curie will play London this summer.

Following the life of scientific pioneer Marie Sklodowska Curie, the musical first premiered in 2020 at the Chungmu Art Center, with a filmed broadcast bringing in more than 790,000 viewers. 

Playing Charing Cross Theatre, the musical will begin performances June 1, with performances continuing through July 28. Opening night is set for June 7.

Initially written in Korean by Seeun Choun, with music by Jongyoon Choi, the musical is directed by Sarah Meadows, with the English adaptation by Tom Ramsay and Emma Fraser, and literal translation by Ahreumbi Rew.

Emma Fraser serves as music director, with Joanna Goodwin as choreographer. They are joined by a creative team consisting of sound designer Andrew Johnson, casting director Jane Deitch, production manager James Anderton, and general management company Aria Entertainment. Casting will be released at a later date.
