Mary Beth Fisher, a Chicago theatre favorite best known for creating roles in Rebecca Gilman's plays Spinning Into Butter and Boy Gets Girl (a role she recreated Off-Broadway at Manhattan Theatre Club), will play Amanda Wingfield, the controlling and increasingly desperate Southern Belle mom of crippled Laura and restless Tom. Chaon Cross plays Laura, Ned Noyes is the Gentleman Caller and Jay Whittaker takes on narrator Tom.
The design team includes John Culbert (set), Nan Cibula-Jenkins (costumes), Marc Stubblefield, (lights) and Andre J. Pluess and Ben Sussman (sound).
Tickets range from $26 to $50. The Ableson Auditorium is located at 5535 S. Ellis Ave., in Hyde Park on the University of Chicago campus. Call (773)753-4472 or look online at CourtTheatre.uchicago.edu.
