News Mary Poppins Tickets to Go On Sale to General Public in June Tickets for the upcoming Broadway musical Mary Poppins, based on the P.L. Travers stories and the classic 1964 film, will go on sale to the general public June 11.

The New Amsterdam Theatre box office will also open for business that day. Single tickets to those possessing Visa cards will go on sale a few weeks earlier, on May 21. Group sales — for 15 or more theatergoers — are currently on sale by calling (212) 703-1040 or (800) 439-9000.

Mary Poppins is set to begin previews at the New Amsterdam Oct. 14 and officially open Nov. 16. No casting has been announced for the production, which will be directed by Richard Eyre with choreography and co-direction by Matthew Bourne.

Mary Poppins features original songs from the film, with music and lyrics by Richard M. Sherman and Robert B. Sherman. The new stage production also features new songs and additional music and lyrics by George Stiles and Anthony Drewe. Julian Fellowes wrote the book.

The musical will feature set and costume design by Bob Crowley, co-choreography by Stephen Mear, lighting design by Howard Harrison, sound design by Andrew Bruce and Steve C. Kennedy, orchestrations by William David Brohn, and musical supervision by David Caddick.

Mary Poppins will play Tuesdays-Saturdays at 8 PM, Wednesdays and Saturdays at 2 PM and Sundays at 3 PM. Tickets are priced $20-$110. For more information visit www.marypoppins.com.
