News Mary Rodgers Guettel Is Writing Her Memoirs Composer and author Mary Rodgers Guettel, who was honored by The Juilliard School in April, is at work on her memoirs, according to the New York Post.

Guettel is penning her tome with New York Times writer Jesse Green.

A 2013 release is expected. No other details have been announced.

The daughter of Broadway composer Richard Rodgers, Mary Rodgers Guettel is also an acclaimed composer (Once Upon a Mattress, Free to Be…You and Me), author ("Freaky Friday," "The Rotten Book") and lyricist ("Captain Kangaroo" theme). Guettel is vice president of the Rodgers Family Foundation and a member of the Dramatists Guild Council and the Board of Trustees of the Bridgehampton Chamber Music Festival. She is also the mother of Adam Guettel, who wrote the score for the Tony-winning The Light in the Piazza.
