Directed by Michael Mayer (Side Man, American Idiot, On a Clear Day You Can See Forever), the cast includes Matt Doyle (The Book of Mormon, War Horse, Spring Awakening), Andrew Call (Rock of Ages, American Idiot), Nicolette Robinson ("Perfect Couples," Once on This Island), Gideon Glick (Spider Man: Turn Off the Dark, Spring Awakening), Nadia Quinn (Bloody Bloody Andrew Jackson), Gerard Canonico (American Idiot, Spring Awakening), Matt Saldivar (Grease, Peter and the Starcatcher), Isaiah Johnson (Peter and the Starcatcher), Max Chernin (Really Bad Things), Lacretta Nicole (The Buddy Holly Story), Remy Zaken (Spring Awakening) and Alice Lee (Spiderman: Turn Off the Dark, Spring Awakening).

Here's how the show is billed: "The musical, based on characters created by Michael Chabon and Ayelet Waldman, tells the story of Trey Swieskowski (Doyle), an idealistic young Brooklynite who fantasizes about becoming a superhero. Meanwhile, Astrolass, AKA 'Astroman's daughter,' (Robinson) is desperate to pack in her cape and escape the burden of her father’s legacy. When the two of them cross paths, they hatch a plan to change their lives forever."

The creative team includes music director Kimberly Grigsby (Spider Man: Turn Off the Dark, Spring Awakening) and lighting consultant Kevin Adams (American Idiot, Next to Normal, Rigoletto, Spring Awakening).
