The world premiere play starring Brian Murray (The Crucible) will begin Feb. 14 at the Samuel Beckett Theatre in midtown's Theatre Row complex. Opening night is Feb. 26 for the strictly limited run through March 22. Doug Hughes directs. T.R. Knight and Tari Signor also star in the debut of Irish playwright Howard's work — which was in development at MCC for several years under the title Skipwith.

Set in Ireland's Dublin, Scattergood focuses on a young scholar (Knight) who aspires to the chivalry of knighthood under the tutelage of his Professor James Scattergood (Murray).

The design team includes Hugh Landwehr (set), Linda Fisher (costumes) and Clifton Taylor (lighting). The production features music composed by David Van Tieghem

Murray garnered a Tony Award nomination for his turn in the Broadway revival of The Crucible. His other credits include The Play About The Baby, Hobson's Choice and Uncle Vanya.

Knight currently appears in the Roundabout Theater Company's production of Tartuffe on Broadway. Other credits include Noises Off, The Hologram Theory, This Lime Tree Bower and Macbeth.

Signor has appeared in Troilus and Cressida(TFANA), Romeo and Juliet(Trinity Rep), Arthur Miller's Mr. Peters' Connections (Signature) and in Woody Allen's Death Defying Acts (Variety Arts)
