News Memorial for Harry S. Gold, Disney Theatricals Executive, Held Nov. 17 A memorial for Harry S. Gold, the executive director of business and legal affairs for Disney Theatrical Productions who died Oct. 10 in New York after a long battle with cancer, will be presented Nov. 17.

The memorial, which is open to the public, is being held at the New Amsterdam Theatre, located at 214 West 42nd Street between Broadway and Eighth Avenue. The celebration of Mr. Gold's life is scheduled to begin at 10:30 AM ET. Mr. Gold, who studied theatre management at Yale University, School of Drama, joined Disney in 1997, just as the company was solidifying its place on Broadway with the enthusiastically received The Lion King. Over his career there he handled the business and legal affairs of that show, as well as The Little Mermaid and Mary Poppins.

Before joining Disney, Mr. Gold was a management associate at Niko Associates/Marvin A. Krauss Associates, a general management firm which worked on many Broadway shows, according to Variety. He was an associate producer of the Bam Salutes Sondheim benefit, and associate general manager of the national tour of Deathtrap.

Harry Gold was born in New Haven, CT, and graduated from Wesleyan University and earned his J.D. from the Washington and Lee University of Law. He is survived by his parents.
