Classic Arts News Metropolitan Opera Presents New Year's Eve Fireworks in Lincoln Center's Plaza Tonight's performance of Gounod's Rom_o et Juliette at the Metropolitan Opera marks the company's first New Year's Eve gala in five years. To celebrate, the Met is offering the public a free fireworks display — with confetti — designed by the house's own technical department.
The pyrotechnics run from midnight to 12:30 a.m. on Josie Robertson Plaza at Lincoln Center, just in front of the Metropolitan Opera House.
