The cast recording of Mexico's 1998 hit revival of Gypsy starring Silvia Pinal (Mame, Hello Dolly!, Annie Get Your Gun, Bells are Ringing ) has been finally released. This recording of the classic Jule Styne-Stephen Sondheim score is sung in Spanish as it's currently being performed at Mexico City's Teatro Silvia Pinal.
The revival ofGypsy opened July 25 with Pinal as Mama Rose and her daughter, pop/rock star Alejandra Guzman as Louise. The show recently celebrated it's first 100th performances and Iran Castillo (Grease!) will replace Guzman beginning Oct. 22.
