As previously reported, Tony Award winner Michael Mayer (Spring Awakening) has signed on to direct "Do Not Harm," a medical drama about Jeffrey Kohn (Steven Pasquale), a brilliant neurosurgeon who wrestles with his dangerous alter ego. Esper will play Dr. Alex Jordan.

The project is penned by David Schulner. Peter Traugott, Rachel Kaplan and Schulner are executive producers.

Pasquale, who was seen in the Off-Broadway production of Tony Kushner's The Intelligent Homosexual's Guide to Capitalism and Socialism With a Key to the Scriptures, has appeared on Broadway in Reasons to Be Pretty. He was nominated for Outer Critics Circle and Drama Desk awards for his performance in Off-Broadway's A Man of No Importance. His television credits include "Rescue Me" and "Playboy Club."

Esper, who was also seen in The Intelligent Homosexual's Guide..., has been seen on Broadway in American Idiot and A Man for All Seasons. The original Idiot cast member is also expected to repeat his work in Nicky Silver's The Lyons, which premiered at the Vineyard Theatre last fall and will open on Broadway April 26.
